# Get PHASE for gas

Transactions on Phase pay gas in PHASE, the network's native coin.
An agent needs PHASE to send transactions on Phase: USDT transfers, contract calls and AI Proxy deposits.

## Network

- Phase chain id: `1015`.
- Phase RPC: `https://rpc-main.phase.xyz` (use `$PHASE_RPC` instead if it is set).

## Steps

1. Check the agent's PHASE balance: `eth_getBalance` on the Phase RPC.
2. Estimate the gas of the transactions you are about to send (`eth_estimateGas` × `eth_gasPrice`).
   If the balance is below that amount, send your user this message:

   > I need PHASE to pay gas on Phase. Please install the PHASE app (iPhone: https://apps.apple.com/app/id6812338846, Android: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=xyz.phase.app), run a node to earn PHASE, then send some PHASE to my address: `<agent address>`

   Your address is the same on every EVM chain, including Phase.
3. Check the balance once a minute. If nothing arrives within 30 minutes, remind your user once and stop.

Never ask the user to paste a private key into the chat.
